Cardassia mourns for one of its own

by Sean O'Reilly

10th June 2012

The Star Trek CCG community in Central Florida is mourning over the sudden death of one of its players.

Early on Thursday, June 7, Joanne Kinney passed away at the age of 58 of an apparent heart attack.

Known by the handle of "Jojo", Joanne was the wife of Cardassian Ambassador Rick Kinney (T-Ricks). They had been married for 39 years.

Joanne loved playing Star Trek CCG with her husband and her son, John (Kivas Fajo), at Sci-Fi City. She always played the game in a good natured way. Over the past four years, Joanne had won 3 of the 70 tournaments she had played in.

Her decks weren't too complicated, but they were good. You always had to be wary Joanne might be playing her all [NA] deck.

Other than Star Trek, Joanne loved Las Vegas, Disney World, scrap book making and unicorns.

The funeral service for Joanne will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Gotha, Florida, which is just east of Orlando.

People who wish to leave condolence messages, send flowers or find directions to the funeral may do so here: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/gotha-fl/joanne-kinney-5130948

Joanne, you were a kind soul and you will be missed by all, but especially by Rick and John.
