June CRD Release

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

2nd June 2008

The June CRD has been released and is effective immediately. There are a few new rulings and errata issued (see below), but the majority of the changes made are simply to fix cosmetic or grammatical errors.

One of the most significant new rulings is the definition of 'prevent' actions, which appears under actions, response in the new CRD. This ruling is designed to simplify all of the "prevent" effects that occur in the game by folding them into one category and one timing. Cards like Knowledge and Experience, Cascade Virus and any of the "counters" will now all be covered by this ruling. One significant change as a result of this ruling: because prevent responses occur first, when You've Always Been My Favorite is prevented, that event's owner no longer loses the downloaded cards. (The card is prevented before it responds to itself.)

One new erratum is for Ghost Stories, which has been changed to work as it was designed. Previously, there was some question about from which mission the dilemma named by this event could be returned. Now, the event adds the keyword and text to the dilemma itself, making sure it works properly.

The erratum for the Gal Gath'thong has been changed to clarify that the opponent can only be forced to discard two cards per turn, rather than implying the ship could only move from an opponent's mission once per turn.

A few other notes: Krajensky Founder, Adversary has been issued an erratum, and the Rekar, Tool of the Tal'Shiar erratum has been placed into the CRD. Both of these changes stem from the same timing problem. Kruge, Instinctive Commander has had his keyword changed so that he commands the proper ship. (Previously, the capitalization had been wrong on his text.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the gameplay forum or on the Official Clarifications board. We expect the database to be updated, and to have a new version of the Virtual Errata File, within the next few days.
