U.S. Nationals 2015

by Justin Ford, Local Legend and TD

7th January 2015

The playgroups in Seattle and Vancouver would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us in October of 2015 for the return of the US National Championship weekend from the 16th through the 18th.

This is an exciting time for the Seattle area, as this will be the first major event in the Continuing Committee era to come to the Emerald City. The weekend will be packed with nonstop Trek for both editions along with Tribbles, and there will be spontaneous trivia questions throughout the weekend.

We are fortunate to have a great deal on a set of rooms and meeting space, in which the tournaments will be held (more on this below). There are also lots of amazing and unique sights and attractions to see while in Seattle. If you plan on extending your stay beyond the tournament weekend, there is a list of fun things to do at the end of this article.

The Venue:

We are graced by the Hampton Inn just off I-5 in Federal Way, WA (only 15 minutes from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport) with a 10 room block attached with our meeting/event space for the weekend. If we happen to fill the room block, more rooms can become available so don’t sweat it here. The price for the room is $109 per night for two queen beds which makes it excellent for two people to share the room dropping the price to $55 per night. When making the reservation, if it can be done as soon as possible, just mention the Continuing Committee for the room block deal. There is a breakfast included and within walking distance are the transit center, various restaurants, shops, and movie theaters.

The address to the hotel is: 31720 Gateway Center Blvd. S. Federal Way, WA 98003 253-946-7000

Helping me orchestrate the weekend events we have two secondary TDs, that will be able to assist in rulings to avoid any game delay with myself coming to your table: The Secondary TD for the 2E events will be Michael Van Breemen. The Secondary TD for the 1E Events will be Ken Tufts.

The entry fee of $50 will cover the entire weekend of events as well as if you pre-register / pay on the website you will receive a goodie bag with all sorts of fun swag in it when you arrive. Individual entry fees for single events will be listed on the tournament page.
