Why is The Continuing Committee Selling Booze?

by Jeremy Commandeur, Game Designer

15th September 2015

Greetings!

You might be wondering why there is some strange ad for a game (Booze Barons) the Continuing Committee does not make on the front page.

Years ago, the Continuing Committee was actively working only on 2E and wanted to start up real support for 1E. Charlie recruited me (Jeremy Commandeur) to get 1E off the ground within the Continuing Committee.  I served as 1E Director, formed the first rules committee, rebooted organized play for 1E, built playtest teams and recruited people to do the first design work on 1E. I was also the lead designer on the first Tribbles CCG set.

I think it is an amazing accomplishment that the Continuing Committee now prominently supports three “dead” CCGs with active players all over the world. That is unprecedented in the game industry. Although I’m no longer actively involved, I still have a great deal of love for the Trek CCGs, the player community, and the excellent people working for Continuing Committee.

A board game I designed, Booze Barons, is on Kickstarter right now through Saturday, September 19th. I have been working on the game for several years and it was play tested and developed by a lot of Continuing Committee alumni. I thought this would be a good opportunity to support the Continuing Committee financially and reach out to a community that I have a great deal of love and respect for.  I asked if I could buy an advertisement on the homepage.

Booze Barons is a secret identity team game for up to nine players that plays in under 45 minutes. Other well know secret identity team games are Werewolf, One Night Werewolf, The Resistance and Shadow Hunters. Booze Barons has no player elimination, no “night phase” (where you open/close your eyes) and always has three teams in the game. This creates a unique, tense dynamic right up until the end of the game.

If you like what you see, please consider backing. Even if you only back for $1 to raise our backer count, I would be most grateful.

Peace and Long Life,
Jeremy Commandeur
