Kurn: Gowron *spits* in your face when you ask him to give back what is rightfully ours. And you would support him?
Lieutenant Worf: We cannot regain honor by acting dishonorably.

In this series, I will show off some beginner level decks that people have sent to me. Today’s deck is Ken Tufts’ To Illegit (sp) to Quit from the 2015 World Championships.
Missions
Qo’noS is here and can be attempted with HQ: Secure Homeworld. The rest of the mission set is very un-Klingon to my mind, there’s a lot of ENGINEER, SCIENCE and especially Navigation. Secret Salvage II, Warped Space and Reported Activity all require it. Astrophysics is also prevalent, seeing as Warped Space and Seek Life Form need it. I would probably get out Klag and Torin for Assign Mission Specialists. My thoughts are to seed Secret Salvage II as an outpost and attempt it first, but then I panic, thinking about the Borg Ship dilemma. Then I see that BSD has errata and I relax a bit. My next missions would probably be Reported Activity and Warped Space.
Other Seeds
Continuing Mission is present to give everyone the TNG icon. The seeded free report engines are Attention All Hands (for personnel), Cybernetics Expertise (for androids) and The Great Hall (for High Council Members). Officer Exchange Program’s conversion of a draw into a download is intended to be used with your Continuing Mission draw. When I read through Officer Exchange Program, I wondered if this was a battle deck, then I saw there was no Battle Bridge side deck, so the secondary text of that card is moot. Equipment Replicator is a great way to add equipment to the free play salad, and the PADDs and Tricorders in the Q’s Tent will help out the Klingons with their un-Klingon mission set.
Ken has told me that there is really only set dilemma combo in this deck. Hippocratic Oath + Male’s Love Interest & Plague Ship + Medical Crisis. Everything else is very flexible and you build them on the fly. He does say that Make Us Go should be before Spatial Rift and that The Arsenal: Divided + Gomtuu Shockwave + Cytherians also works well. Also, Barclay’s Protomorphosis Disease should always be a self-seed so you can try for a two-mission win.
Draw Deck
I was wondering why there were two outposts and The Great Hall, as that seem like a lot of facilities to my mind, but then I saw that the fifth free play engine, Illegitimate Heir to the Empire, requires a outpost for the free report. You don’t want to find yourself not being able to use this in the event that your outpost gets blown up. In terms of personnel, B’Somgh and Zegov are the two heavy hitters. She’s especially flexible as a personnel because she’s both an I.K.S. Pagh personnel and Duras related. Apparently the Soong-Type Android should always be MEDICAL and androgynous.
I was a little worried about all of the ships being in the Q’s Tent, but I see now that the I.K.S. Pagh can be downloaded, and the Cha’Joh can be gotten with Hidden Fighter or Ready Room Door. This deck also has several ways to get what you need. There are six Handshakes and a couple of Mutations. Nu’Daq downloads Dig, which brings things back from the discard pile.
What I’ve Learned from This Deck
Stacking free play engines seems to be very important for solid deckbuilding in 1E. You also need to get cards into hand by balancing out the free plays with draw or download engines. It’s interesting to see how those free play engines have proliferated in the CC era. I've also learned that the Q the Referee side deck needs to be updated.
