Master Promos Revealed for 2018

by Maggie Geppert, Acting Director of Organized Play

16th January 2018

The Continuing committee sanctions two different types of Level 3 events – National Championships and Masters.  National Championships occur one per country per games (First Edition, Second Edition and Tribbles).  They can take place any time of the year.  The players who take 1st and 2nd place in First or Second Edition each earn a first round bye into the next Continental Championship of their choice.  The 1st and 2nd place players for Tribbles receive a 100,000 tribble head start for the next Continental Championship of their choice.  Trek Masters are not associated with Road to Worlds, so do not offer byes, etc.  Instead, Masters participants may earn Masters points for their victories.  These tourneys can happen any time of the year.

So far, there are a wide variety of Level 3 events happening all over the world in 2018.  This schedule has a lot of uncertainty in it, so dates and venues may change in the future.  Additionally, these are just the events I know about that are in the planning stage.  There may be others.  Please wait for events to be in the system and consult with the organizers before making any travel arrangements.

So, if this schedule doesn’t have you hyped about high-level play will the promos do it?  Each Masters Event and National Championship will receive a free kit to support the event.  If the event is just for a single game, the kit will include:

If you host all three games, you will receive:

This is the Year of the Non-Aligned, and the Level 3 promos reflect some fan favorite Non-Aligned Ships.  For First Edition we have the Jovis from “The Most Toys.”  Second Edition’s promo features the Fortune from “Gambit.”  Finally, you may have a little trouble identifying the Tribbles promo, but it’s the Fesarius from “The Corbomite Maneuver.”  The play mat looks pretty groovy too!  I hope you will all get a chance to attend a National Championship or Masters event this year.
