German National Championship 2011

by Thomas Schneider, European OP Coordinator

7th March 2011

Last years German Second Edition Nationals was a tournament to remember. We had the usual fun like great people, great pizza, and great competition. We had a final of two high class players that should face again only a few months later in the final of the World Championship. And we had a judge who lost his voice on the day before and tried to answer rule questions without speaking. This year on the 25th and 26th of June we will try to repeat the fun. Well, maybe not the no-voice think. That was really annoying...

Saturday will see a six round warm-up Regional. As last year the winner will receive a round 1 bye for the German Nationals on the next day. The National Championship on Sunday will be open to all players and no preliminary qualification will be necessary. The two highest ranked players after six rounds will face in a final confrontation to decide the German National Champion 2011.
