GenCon Room Block - Requests Needed!

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

26th February 2012

For up-to-the-minute updates and the latest info, check out the room block forum thread!

Once again, we have secured a block of rooms for our use at GenCon 2012. For the most part, things will be the same as they were last year, except that we have learned a lot of lessons and will be doing this smarter and better.

We will be (again) staying in the JW Marriott at the same rates as last year, plus some taxes and fees we forgot about in 2011. You can reserve a room for anywhere between one (1) and four (4) people, and we have the option of fitting in an extra person or two if you're okay with being a little cramped.

We don't need any financial commitment from you at this time, but we do need to get an early head count on the number of people that will be looking to reserve rooms. If you'd like to reserve a room in our block, please send an email (cplaine@gmail.com) or a Private Message (MidnightLich) as soon as you can with the following information:

1) The name of the primary contact (i.e. who's name will the room be in) 2) The email address of the primary contact 3) Is this a request for a spot in a room, or a full room for a group? 4) If for a group, do you want a single bed or two double beds? 5) If for a group, how many people do you expect to be in the room? 6) If for a spot in a room, what's the maximum number of people you're willing to share with?

We need to get an early count of the number and types of rooms to our contact quite soon, so please get your messages in to me before Sunday, March 11, 2012. This is an early head count, so it'll be okay if things change a bit between now and then, but please don't submit a request unless you actually plan on coming to GenCon and sharing a room.

Once we get our early headcount, we'll start sending out additional information about costs, payments, and the benefits of staying in the block.
