I respectfully disagree. I think [CF] Klingons in particular are a strong faction - especially if supplemented with a sprinkling of other AU/Klingon specific toys.

Reunite legends can fetch you either Kronos One or Cla'dius, the former netting you two decent personnel and the ship (one of those being it's captain) or combined with something like defend homeworld to get the Cla'dius out to menace your opponent on Turn 1 without even using a card play.

They've also got a large number of easy to staff ships with matching commanders that play for free. So my current favorite combination with these guys is the free armada from Camp Khitomer/Protect the timeline, which would let you play a unique personnel & a ship for free each turn.

So with that + T'Ong/Space Time Portal you can get a pretty good number of decent personnel out and menace the enemies of the empire with a fleet of free battlecruisers and birds of prey. If you're willing to splash a Tonnell in your deck, those 1st turn downloads get you anthropology so they're easy to get that going on Khitomer, and I even supplement this with New Arrivals, Temporal Shifting & 34th rule (on my other specialist, Q'elyn) since I intend to start some battles with all my ships.

Long story short, with the heaps of free plays, decent high skilled personnel and easy supplements from other [Kli] toys, the [CF] [Kli] guys are both a lot of fun to play, and offer a low investment way to harass your opponent and have fun doing it :D

I've played variations of this deck idea quite a lot in the online tournament scene and it's been both fun and competitive throughout, I think it'd be fair to say. I'm not sure they need any boosts in an upcoming film block, having played the [CF] [Kli] a lot, they're already pretty good (much more than the [OS] guys or even the [CF] [Fed] s).

Mission: Khitomer Research
Time Location: Camp Khitomer
Incident: Protect the Timeline
Objective: Process Ore: Mining

Mission: Any Klingon Space Mission (prefer worth 35 pts and closest to Khitomer)
Facility: Klingon Outpost
Objective: Reunite Legends
Objective: Assign Support Personnel (download any two personnel with Geology each, but you can do Torak & T'Vor )

You get 2 free [CF] [Kli] free reports and with 2 Geology at Khitomer, you get 2 card draws and 2 pts each turn. So you use Reunite Legend to download a [CF] ship. Download the ASP to outpost. Then during your opponents turn, use the [DL] to get the personnel you want to fly the ship. Then during your 2nd turn fly them to Khitomer to start mining.

Fill in rest of seed/draw decks with whatever you want. Have fun!

^ I use this, but Duck Blind instead of Process Ore (because I hate discarding!).

However, if you're using Process Ore, you might consider adding a [SCC] (maybe Seven + Quark's Isolinear Rods + Temporal Micro) and a few copies of Nanoprobe Resuscitation to really make it a machine.

Don't underestimate The Great Hall, either. Even with Protect The Timeline, you can still free-play six personnel there, and one of them (Kor'choth) is a universal. The problem, of course, is that it could end up on the far end of the spaceline from Khitomer, and then you're in serious trouble.

Yes. If they add a time location to Qo'noS that makes it the same year as Khitomer, then UFP: One Small Step makes it more viable.

Does The Guardian of Forever help with that?

Somewhat. What is running against it, is it is only once per turn you can travel to/from Gateway. So its going to take you two turns to move from Hall to Khitomar (or vice versa) AND its a 40 point stealable mission. UFP its a straight shot from point A to point B and you can easily daisy-chain ship travel if needed.
