I always wondered if it were possible............ Obvious you play a strategy HEAVY on either capturing+brainwash or Assimilation.

Borg are pretty straight forward but other affiliations require more thought..... dilemma combos designed for maximum capturing, simple missions attempt-able by anyone, that sort of thing. You'd also need lots of reflection therapy type cards and equipment to make up for your lack of skills, since all you are going to get is whatever you take from your opponent.

i wouldn't ever expect it to win but it could be fun.

If you really want to get fancy.... no aligned cards at all! No ships or facilities either. THAT is probably impossible as I don't know how you would ever commandeer a ship to move around and pick up all the people you've captured.

I once played against a deck that had only one personnel (Lore), which it didn't need. The rest of the deck was Rogue Borg and Crosis, and all missions were seeded with The Higher... The Fewer / Dead End to ensure I lost a few points before being locked down for the rest of the game.

It could only get mod wins, but it sure did get a mod win on me.

And there is soooo much more.

Playing without personnel really gets rid of the unnecessary dead weight, so one can focus on actual gameplay: making your opponent scream, whine and get a nervous breakdown :D.

Did anyone ever build such a deck where there is no 'personnel', but well, only animals?

Kind of a non-vegetarian deck :D.

I mean ... Targ, Spot, the fish and the other bigger fish that isn't actually fish, but a mammal as well as Captain Archer's cheese-destroying machine could staff Cha'Joh or report using T'Ong.

A few years ago I played a deck with no nouns (no facilities, ships, or personnel) and 12 Space missions at a "Cool Tournament" at GenCon.

The deck ran lots of Parallax Arguers and Kivas Fajo Collector. It also ran a Q Flash and a point deprivation dilemma set.
I hoped to pull off the ever elusive Are These Truly Your Friends/Gift of the Tormentor combo for 100 points, but that never happened. If I remember correctly, I think there were a couple of times where I had a 50% chance of pulling it off though.

The deck actually did pretty well. I don't remember if I won all my games or if I lost one.

I did play against a no-dilemma deck once. It seeded six Kobayashi Marus, back when that was still legal, although I can't remember anything else that it did. (It did really try to slow me down in various ways.) (Didn't work.)

Dilemmas are for pussies if you go for mass-capturing... :) But to be fair I use Tribbles and 2x All-Consuming Evil for 1 doubled dilemma pull. But despite of quadrant, if I start and you have Mission Specialists you are in big trouble... :) :)

Guys, listen to the man!

He knows what he is doing when building such a deck. Believe me ... I know from bitter and ruddy painful experience :D.
