Chain of Command #11: Minutes of Fame

Welcome to Fill in the Blank Season 2: Chain of Command!

Each week I will post the collector’s information for one of the cards in the set’s cardlist. Contestants are free to create whatever card they see fit for that slot in the cardlist, keeping in mind the surrounding cards. As the contest progresses, the cardlist will become more and more defined, guiding the contests’ choices.

The theme of our set is Chain of Command. Not every card has to fit the theme, of course, but it’s something to keep in mind when voting. Speaking of voting, as per normal each contestant will vote for one of the previous week’s entries (with the exception that as the contest runner, I will vote ONLY in the case of a tie).

This week’s winner is… CaptMDKirk!

This week’s contest is...

Card #15! This card must come between Captain Picard Day (Event - Card #13) and Rinnak Pire (Personnel - Bajoran - Card #18). Possibly an event, interrupt, mission or (if we want a whole bunch of them!) a Bajoran personnel.

Vote: A (it's time he got another persona)
Honourable mention: B (many unique mechanics again this week but the "You do not own this personnel." is brilliant)
[S] •Argus Array, Control Subspace Telescope
[AQ] 40
Astrometrics, Intelligence, Leadership, Programming, Security, Cunning>40 and (a Commander aboard his or her corresponding ship or a [AU] personnel)
When you complete this mission, name a non-Headquarters mission. You may examine cards at that mission at any time.
Forcas sector: The Argus Array can perform long-range scans of great power. This has made it the target of many different factions, in many different realities.
Any affiliation may attempt this mission.
Span 3
From Parallels, where the Federation, Cardassians, and even Bajorans were trying to control the Array in the different universes. The Borg are even mentioned (hunting down the desperate Riker from the universe where the Borg won).

And that's why it's getting my vote!

Vote B
[Evt] (5) Receive Mission Specialist
Download a unique personnel with a cost of 4 or less who could be played at your headquarters mission, then place them on your ship. When that personnel uses a skill to complete a mission this turn, score 5 points. You may do this only once per mission attempt. Destroy this event.
"And we've got a passenger for you."
"What sort of passenger?"

[Int] Picard Maneuver
Maneuver. When your ship with its corresponding Commander aboard is in an engagement you did not begin, prevent that engagement and place this interrupt on an opponent's ship involved.
Damage - This ship is attributes -2.
Battle tactic invented by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in 2355 when his vessel was involved in an unprovoked attack by an unknown enemy. Required study by Starfleet Academy.

When an opponent scores 5 or more points, if he or she has not completed a mission, you may discard two cards from hand to download any non-ship card with a total cost less than or equal to the cards discarded.

Any affiliation (except [Bor]) may attempt this mission. 30 points
