Post Chain of Command #29: "What hath God wrought?"
Welcome to Fill in the Blank Season 2: Chain of Command!

Each week I'm happy to post the collector’s information for one of the cards in the set’s cardlist. Contestants are free to create whatever card they see fit for that slot in the cardlist, keeping in mind the surrounding cards. As the contest progresses, the cardlist will become more and more defined, guiding the contests’ choices.

The theme of our set is Chain of Command. Not every card has to fit the theme, of course, but it’s something to keep in mind when voting. Speaking of voting, as per normal each contestant will vote for one of the previous week’s entries (with the exception that the contest runner will vote ONLY in the case of a tie).

This week’s winner is… nalan bal!

Here are this week’s entries:

Plays on your ship. When a damage card is about to be placed on this ship, you may randomly select a non-unique personnel aboard this ship to be killed to prevent that. Destroy this equipment.

Though many advances had been made in technology by the 24th Century, sadly for the more expendable members of many ships crews, developments in surge protectors and fuses and lagged far, far behind...

Maneuver. Attack Pattern (When you win an engagement with this card, you may download an Attack Pattern card).
Plays in your Core.
Order - Begin an engagement involving your ship with at least three staffing icons and its matching Commander aboard. If you win, place this card on opponent's ship, and you may place an Attack Pattern event in your core. Otherwise, destroy this event.
Damage - At the start of your turn, randomly select a personnel aboard this ship to be killed.
Entry C wrote:

Plays in your core. When you play this event, name a unique Honor Klingon. That personnel loses Honor, gains Treachery, and is Integrity -4. When that personnel uses Treachery to solve a mission, if you have 30 or more dilemmas in your dilemma pile, switch dilemma piles with that opponent.
"Grieve for them? A Klingon doesn't grieve. They died in a glorious battle! They are with the honoured dead in Sto-Vo-Kor! They do not want your grief. You dishonour their memories!"

To play this event, you must command Earth. Plays in your core.
Your Commanders, [Cmd] personnel, Leadership personnel, and Officer personnel gain Admiral.

Artifact. (To play this card, you must have completed a mission requiring Acquisition, Anthropology, or Archaeology.) Orb. When you play this equipment, name a skill. Each of your personnel present with that skill is Cunning +1. At the end of your turn, return this card its owner's hand.

While you command a [Fer] personnel with 2 Leadership, your [Fer] present are Integrity +2.
When an opponent's card is about to prevent or destroy your Rule, you may shuffle this card into your deck or discard a random card from hand to prevent that.
"Quark, aren't you forgetting something?"

Please remember to vote for one of these entries in your post, referencing the entry’s letter.

This week’s contest is...

Card #23!
This card must come between Radshert (Personnel: Cardassian #22) and Tora Ziyal, Sacrificial Angel (Personnel: Cardassian #24).
That means the card can be:

I don't think it's as bad as all that; one of the cards that got us here is Card #22 (MattScott's Radshert): a non-unique Cardassian whose name almost certainly didn't come from a script.

Goes to show, if you come up with a playable ability (or even solidly skilled non-unique), all you need to do is Google "Cardassian name generator" and keep clicking until you find a name that fits. Doesn't have to be someone important, or even someone named.

My Entry:

When this personnel uses a skill to complete an Anthropology mission, you may take a card from your discard pile into hand. You may do this only once each turn.

Note: Tried to give him a Bajoran like ability, but limited enough that it doesn't contradict the Cardassian culture flavour of being very wasteful and bad at accessing the discard pile.
