Tournament Report - 1E Sealed - Deep Space 9 Regional |

Sealed DS9 regional. |
Introduction |
This marked my 3rd 4th and 5th 1E games ever, so the learning curve was still pretty steep. Tried to play as well as possible considering I know about 50% of the rules. |
|
Round 1 | | Michael Moskop | FL (-29)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
This game was an uphill battle. My first mission I hit the higher the fewer and went to negative points. both Mike and I took till time to get our missions done, but I only managed to get 71 points by the time the round ended. Good game as we are both green as grass when it comes to 1E. |
We both knew this was going to be difficult since Ed and I were the relative newbies to 1E. We went to time due to a million rules questions from both of us, but I was able to complete my last mission at the buzzer to make it a full win. |

Round 2 | | Jason Beyer | FW (+81) |
This was a come from behind victory that came down to 1 random pick. Jason pretty much ran the board the whole game- attacking my ships and making me scurry home and spend eons docked and repairing. But when I grabbed a really key personnel with telepathic alien kidnappers, he stalled out in a big way. This actually let me come from 25 points to win the game. Jason was honestly robbed in this one. |

Round 3 | | Corbin Johnson | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
This one was my karma for snaking Jason. Corbin stole, kidnapped, relocated, killed and phased out pretty much every key personnel in my deck. I was left with skill holes for pretty much all my missions, so I packed it up when it become evident I wasnt going to get much more done. |
Ed did exceptionally well for playing his 5th game of the one of the most complicated games ever made. I felt like I was playing a seasoned veteran. He made no mistakes and just got screwed by my atmospheric ionizaitions, thine own selfs and a mysterious orb. Hang in there man! If you keep playing this, you could seriously win worlds or continentals where luck is less of a problem. Ed even asked me for some help with his constructed deck before the tournament and I could tell that he is pumped to start playing some constructed 1E sometime soon. Now if we can just get Jason and Mike Moskop a baby sitter and something for their wives to do... and a Job with with weekends off! We would have an awesome playgroup! We also need to get Jon Carter a transporter or shuttlecraft! |
