Introduction |
Sealed deck event with Block starter.
Was lucky to draw Klingon starter |
|
Round 1 | | Matthew Ting | FW (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Played straight. Draw cards and report, attempt, reattempt.
Was lucky in that matt was stopped several times by dilemnas. |
Garry's Klingons tore through my dilemmas for breakfast, apparently being hungry for the first game of the day. Learned a few lessons about the deck, which could be applied later. |
|
Round 2 | | Steve Hartmann | FW (+5)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Most memorable for the Tarellian Plague Ship that de-staffed Steve, followed by Barclays Proto that did it again leaving him on 95 points.
Steve resorted to Self Destruct to try unsuccessfully to prevent my mission attempts. |
Garry had a slow start but I got stranded on 95 points. Attempting my final mission I lost my only medical to Hippocratic oath and then lost 10 or so guys to tallerian plague ship. One more medical would have given me the win and Garry managed to win before I could recover. |
|
Round 3 | | Greg Dillon | FL (-30) |
Was doing well until I forgot to leave someone on the two completed "Impose Order" missions. Greg stole one and acquired enough points to win. |
|
|
Round 4 | | Ben Dillon | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Ben was able to forsee what I couldn't and after stopping my attempt on Warped Space, he completed it then destroyed my ship.
Reported another ship and crew, tried to steal his 40 point mission and was stopped again and again lost my ship/crew. |
Both seeded 40+ missions allowing for some mission stealing. He went straight for his as I had expected and let him hit a Q dilemma allowing me to swoop in the next turn to finish. After that I decided to kill the game off by destroying his ship. Was a no contest after that. |

Closing Thoughts |
It's always fun being eaten by my sons, NOT.
Notwithstanding, the most enjoyable day of 1st Edition I have had in 10 years.
Block play methods however are NOT as enjoyable as the old methods.
Block feels too much like 2nd Ed on valium.
