Ferengi Explosion |
Introduction |
I've wanted to play a deck that uses RoA #6 to spam weenies for a while, so I did! I included Athos IV, but only for the achievement - all of the Maquis personnel can play to Ferenginar. |

Round 1 | | Chris O'Connell | FL (-70) |
A weenie deck is at a significant disadvantage against the Unfair Comparison pile. I did manage to get the engine working right away and had a thick stack of personnel in play quickly, stopping them aboard the ship so I could have replacements already aboard in case of casualties. I just couldn't make much headway before Chris managed to eat through my dilemmas at two missions for the win. |

Round 2 | | Cayenne Geis | MW (+25) |
This game came down to time, and, having lost 5 points accidentally with David Marcus, Cayenne found herself in a spot where she was shooting for the modified win at best. As a result, she spent 21 counters and downloaded people with Inyo on her last turn, which made things pretty exciting. Fortunately, I was able to block most of her last-ditch attempts.
Oh, and placing 12 counters of personnel under for Aid Legendary Civilization is pretty painful, even with as many people in play as this deck can achieve. They're all so cheap! |

Round 3 | | Matthew Zinno | FW (+70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I'm a staunch space-first guy, but after my experience in the online masters (and because I only have one mission that can be attempted by only NA personnel), I went planet first here. It worked well enough that I solved both my planet missions first. This became an issue because, at that point, time was almost up, and Matt had a planet solved and a space mission buried.
Mostly to save time (but also because I still only had one ship), I just threw 18 personnel at my space mission (which was not even all my personnel in play at the time). It worked pretty well, in part because of all the duplicate dilemmas Matt drew. That's not something you can do every time though, I imagine Matt is going to have Fractured Time in his next three piles. |
I repeatedly micro-teamed my first mission, and solved it around mid-game. (And then, like in my first match, forgot to use the discount it granted.) Meanwhile, Lucas was spamming out cheap people (but I hopefully disrupted him by Tacking his 6th rule). On his second mission, he attempted with 11, and then attempted again with 9. (He left out Ezri, cuz I kept asking if I'd stopped her with a dilemma.) And I held him off for a while, with An Issue of Trust being more effective than he expected. On his third mission, he attempted with 18. And two dilemmas in my combo of 5 really underperformed: Intimidation, rather than hitting many Ferengi, started with an Alien; and Quantum Filament, which would have set up the later dils to extra-stop, got passed. |
