Job Description:
- The Web Team is looking for a creative and talented individual to help design the layout of new webpages, and streamline the layout of existing pages.
- Reporting to the Chief Programmer, this position will also work closely with the Art Director to determine the best aesthetic design for the website, and ensure all pages fit that aesthetic.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has a solid background in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Is familiar with HTML5 standards
- Is self-motivated, and has sufficient free time to dedicate to this cause
- Has a good eye for aesthetics, and for minor details
- Has prior experience with web design, and a knowledge of website navigation fundamentals
To Apply:
- Create mock-up images of the front page, demonstrating how you would adjust the layout to work better on a netbook/tablet screen, and on a smartphone screen. The main layout (as seen on a computer) will not be changing, so the new options should fit the same basic aesthetic.
- Download this HTML file. Using it as a basis, create a new version of that page using HTML5 and CSS. You can adjust the layout and design as desired, as long as it continues to fit within the general look and feel of the website.
