Make Me Laugh!

by Kaufman, Staff Writer

31st March 2017

2007.

The European Union grows, France created the fastest ground train, Live Earth has concerts in nine major cities, the spacecraft Phoenix is launched towards Mars, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons is born, and Decipher releases the final physical product for Second Edition, What You Leave Behind.

Stewart Rivers

Thought to be the final product, they threw everything into this set. Heck, it even had Gatherers stuff, which was in the first set and nothing since. It also had Stewart Rivers, played by Seth MacFarlane. Not having opportunities afforded in First Edition for Easter Eggs, it nonetheless included a rare in-joke with "A Family Guy" appearing on the three lines of lore.

Flash forward almost a decade and you'll see the updated conversion with many more references to the MacFarlane-Verse. It's nothing against Decipher; let us not forget that The Cleveland Show and Ted didn't even exist and American Dad was only in its second year.

Yes, the big properties get a nifty reference. But if you've been living under a rock for the past couple of decades and don't get the references, it still makes sense. This helps if you don't get the secret message Creative is going for. Someone may have caught the jokes on Coylus and Rurigan from the block before last. If so, no one's made mention.

This article would be remiss if we didn't mention gameplay accurate material as well. At first glance, he's not all that great. A Support Personnel, his skills won't help with an obvious mission, but you will come to see that he does sport a very good skill set when it comes to dilemma busting. By virtue of being Universal, you can stock multiples, taking more along for the ride and helping maximize his potential.

Who knows what other hidden treasures are lost in Broken Bow.
