Welcome to Original Series Week

by Maggie Geppert, Vice Chairman

4th February 2018

Welcome to TOS week!  There are so many great Star Trek episodes (and movies!) out there to get you in the mood.  You could go to The City on the Edge of Forever or get stuck in The Cage.  You could wake the Space Seed or look in the Mirror, Mirror.  For a little more lightheartedness, check out The Trouble with Tribbles or Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.  Or you could watch some of the more serious classic films, such as The Wrath of Khan or The Undiscovered Country.

We have some fun stuff for you this week.  Charlie Plaine will be telling us about Original Series design in First and Second Edition.  I’ll be checking out basic OS decks for First Edition and Second Edition.  Ross Fertel will be talking about Allegiance.

My guest this week is Brian Sykes talking up his Top 5 TOS cards for both Editions.  This episode is best if listened to.  Brian only had time to talk during this episode on his morning commute.  I thought I had shared my screen so the visuals would be the different cards.  Sadly, it was 5:00 am my time and I forgot to press the “Confirm” button in Hangouts after sharing, so the visuals are all me drinking my coffee.  *facepalm*

Now to this week’s puzzle.  Ross Fertel again provided this week’s puzzle and it’s a doozy!

Put the cards from The Trouble with Tribbles episode, all three games, in chronological order per appearance in the episode.  (Hint: there’s a place on the TrekCC website that will help with this considerably).

PM your solution to me (jadziadax8) before 11:59 pm CST (that’s -6:00 GMT) on February 10th, 2018.  The winner will choose between a themed First Edition or Second Edition promo card.
