Director of Second Edition Selection Committee and Application

Last week, I explained the process that we would go through to pick the members of the selection committee to find the next Director of Second Edition. Since then, I'm happy to report that we've had a number of people express interest and lots of good feedback. Today, I'm here to announce the final selection panel and a change to the procedure.

The selection committee consists of seven (7) individuals:

• Charlie (MidnightLich), Chair
• Amber (Marquetry)
• TJ (tjark)
• Jonathan (Triumph)
• Brian (Armus)
• Nerdo (Nerdopolis Prime)
• Greg (Latok)

Brian, Nerdo, and Greg were the three applicants that matched the most of the criteria outlined in my announcement and represented diversity of play experiences. I do apologize to all of the applicants that did not get selected, but having more people interested than positions is a good problem to have. In the mean time, all seven (7) members of the selection committee invite you to ask any questions of them you may have in this article thread. We want to make sure you get to know all of us and express any thoughts or concerns you may have.

After posting the initial article, there was a lot of discussion about the procedure. One common request was for there to be more public involvement, and I will be modifying the procedure accordingly. All recorded interviews with candidates will be posted for public viewing as long as the candidate consents. These videos will be posted together, after all the interviews are completed), and we will invite anyone to view and comment. The comments from these interviews will be available for the members of the selection committee to read and review during deliberations.
