Second Star to the Right Release

The latest set for First Edition, Second Star to the Right releases today and is tournament legal next week. Focusing on the Classic Films era, this set lets the Federation and Klingon Empire of that time period stand on their own. You can go the joint route with a treaty but that is not necessary. At this point, both factions can stand on their own.

If you have been following along with the various spoilers around the internet, there are seven cards that have not been revealed to you until today. They are all personnel, ready to fill in the skill holes at the ready. But it is not just a bunch of people with nice skill sets, some of them are worth a deeper dive.

For starters, Saavik gets not one but two extra skills when with other Classic Film personnel and only those personnel. The download of a Tricorders only serves to expands that already nice selection.

She is not the only Vulcan of interest in the set. After being Federation and Romulan, Spock makes his Klingon affiliation debut. With honor as a skill, he will fit right in several Klingon builds along with his officer classification. Plus, he has the skill of Mindmeld. New to the affiliation, this opens up a lot of possibilities if you want to play a little risky. The download of a Tactical Console can further enhance the weapons of your ship. The best part of all is the attributes. The lowest is an eight making him a pure powerhouse in the affiliation.

There is a lot to like with this group of personnel. Note that there is at least one joke skill in there for the fun of it. Chances are if there is someone you are fond of in the first six films, they are in this set or the next.
