August CRD Resolves Duplicate Mission Issues

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

3rd August 2009

The August 2009 Current Rulings Document (CRD) has been released, and is effective immediately.

In this update, the location entry and the opponent's entries have been deleted because they were already covered in the rulebook or other existing rulings, and thus were confusing.

The primary reason for this ruling is to officially consider duplicate copies of the same mission as completely separate missions. The reasons for this include:

1) Simplest - No special rules necessary, easiest rule to remember and apply.
2) Future-proof - Don't need to worry when creating new effects.
3) Marginal effect - Most games would have never proceeded differently.
4) Consistent - We don't treat copies of unique personnel commanded by an opponent as the same personnel, no good reason we *have* to treat missions as the same.

As said above, this ruling takes effect immediately, and will be in effect for the European Continental Championship and for the World Championship as well.
