Giving Your Starter a Boost (Part 2)

by Keith "Foreman" Morris, Freelance Writer

11th November 2009

Hopefully by now, you're realising that half the fun of the Star Trek CCG is deciding which cards to put in your deck, and which ones to leave out. Now there are a lot of virtual cards that I didn’t include in my boosters, so you might want to take a look at all the cards in the four virtual expansions. I’ve included links to the PDF files for those expansions below.

Besides the new virtual cards created by The Continuing Committee, you are allowed to use printable proxies of some older cards. Any card that has received an erratum is allowed to be proxied, as well as some cards that were released as alternate image virtual promo cards. Below are links to both the errata file and the list of virtual promos.  Any of the promo cards without the Continuing Committee stamp on them are tournament legal as proxies - as of print time, that includes only the Things Past 15th Anniversary Cards, and Worf(Chief of Security), but on January 1, 2010 more cards will become printable.

If you want to print any of these, you can follow these steps.

  1. Follow this link to the online deck builder (you need to login to the message boards first)
  2. Use the "Create a new deck link to create a deck list containing only the cards you want to print.
  3. Save the deck.
  4. Click on the "manage my decks" link at the top of the page. You should see your deck listed now with a bunch of options underneath it.
  5. Click on Print Decklist.
  6. Choose how many of each card you want to print and type it in the box.
  7. Hit the Print button.
Voila! All the cards you want without any extra to use up your valuable ink.

So there you have it, a cheap and easy way to take your starter and turn it into a tournament worthy deck.

Now go give those starters a boost!
