The Continuing Committee and our local organizers are proud to announce that the 2024 World Championships for all three games - First Edition, Second Edition, and Tribbles - will take place Friday August 30th through Monday September 2nd at the King George Hotel in San Francisco, California. To accomodate our largest tournament weekend of the year, the event organizers have reserved a conference room within the hotel from Friday midday all the way through Monday evening. In addition, to help ease the financial burden, Richard New (The Guardian) has also arranged for a room block to accomodate traveling players.
The King George hotel offers single bed, two twin bed, queen bed, and king bed rooms. Under the room block contract, participants will qualify for a daily rate of just $129 (plus taxes and fees) starting Friday and running through Tuesday. Additionally, anyone staying as part of the festivities may also extend their stay for up to three days prior to the start of the World Championships, or up to three days after they have concluded. Amenities include a sitting room with pool table and darts, on-site bar, and paid parking garage across the street. If you are interested in staying at the King George Hotel as part of the room block, pleasemake your reservation with this link: 2408STARTREK or by entering that code at checkout. Just be sure to make your reservations by Monday, August 19 to ensure you are connected with the group. Finally, travel from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK) can be arranged with the hotel via airport shuttle, through a vibrant local Uber and Lyft community, or through the public transportation system. However you intend to make your way to the King George, you can plan your route using this website: https://www.sfmta.com/ .If anyone has any questions, please contact local organizer Richard New (by PM at The Guardian) for assistance.
