Last week, we went through the Worlds decks for First and Second Editions. Since then, a few more decks have appeared, so let's see what else was played.
We'll start with a couple Second Edition Borg decks, such as Assimilation Means You Will Always Have Friends by Jedi Barnes. While friends are to be had, this deck has a Persistent dilemma pile to go with Particle 010. There are a relatively low number of Assaults amongst the tools old and new for the two-mission win.
Jared Hoffman would play Ratings Pinata 2 going a different route with another Queen altogether stocking the less used Perfectionist. This deck has a little more in the assimilation vein, or at least the capturing as it is called in Second Edition, with cards both unique to Borg (Reborn, Unrelenting) and otherwise (The Perfect Tool) to reap the rewards. In keeping with Second Edition, Thomas V's MVB Terok Nor goes for the dilemma mill, enabled by cards such as New Power Rising and Tenuous Alliance. Also, there are only two representatives in the deck, Weyoun, Scheming Negotiator is there to cycle some Jem'Hadar back into the deck. Jared Hoffman would lean into the years' Organized Play promo cards with his Cardassian By the early 2020s, there was a place like this in every major city in the United States. Oddly enough, only one of the promo cards is in the deck, Julian Bashir, Displaced Doctor, though there are a lot of personnel who cost two. Moving over to First Edition, Maggie Geppert would rewrite already rewritten history with Hero of the (Romulan Star) Empire Mk III. Since that card only looks for the Klingon attemptability icon, the deck has paths to victory. Note that the deck has a good chunk of Twenty-Third Century personnel to mix with the current era. Since Continuing Mission/Reshape the Quadrant are out of the picture, the two headquarters will have to help with the free plays. Of course, the deck has a good stock of Tribbles around to have even more fun. Finally, Brian S would hunt Self-Controlling cards with ... the Dominion in Obsessed - Summer 2024 - Take 2. They are not optimized for that fight and neither is the Battle Bridge Door: Auxiliary Control which goes beyond the minimum of thirteen cards for twenty-one! The deck strategy is included in the deck noted but if this can hunt Spaceborne Entities, it can hunt opponents ships as well. That will end our look at decks from Worlds 2024. We'll see what 2025 brings! Discuss this article in this thread.
