Now Hiring: First Edition Traditional Manager

by Charlie Plaine, Director of First Edition

28th October 2024

We are accepting applications immediately for the position of First Edition Traditional Manager. The Traditional Manager is a new volunteer position within the Department of First Edition who will work to ensure that we are providing reasonable support for Decipher-only players. This individual will be included in all planning, even that of new cards, to protect support for Traditional players and identify opportunities to allow for Modern players to try Traditional formats, and vice versa.

The bulk of the work of this position will be as a liaison to player groups that have little to no interest in using virtual cards. We want those players to feel supported as much of our current focus is on new card design. While we want to provide more on-ramps for Traditional players to get into virtual cards, it will always just be an option.

This position reports to the Director of First Edition but will regularly work with the other executive team members (Rules Team Lead, Balance Team Lead, Creative Team Lead) within the department. Additionally, there will be the need to cooperate with the Department of Communications and with the Department of Organized Play. It is expected that candidates can volunteer between five (5) and eight (8) hours per month.

Candidates for this position must meet the following criteria:

Candidates will benefit from any or all of the following criteria:

The Continuing Committee is dedicated to non-biased recruiting for all volunteers. Interested parties of any kind, from any nation and background, are invited to apply. To apply, any interested party should contact Charlie Plaine via Private Message, Facebook, or email at cplaine AT gmail DOT com. Candidates that we feel meet our criteria will be invited to interview before a final decision is made.
