European Continentals Brings the Next Chairman's Challenge

It's been almost two years since we last offered a Chairman's Challenge, and that's an oversight we intend to correct going forward. At the request of the European Continental event planners, we're offering a new Chairman's Challenge for one of that weekend's Second Edition side events.

Why's it called a Chairman's Challenge? Because I, the Chairman of The Continuing Committee, must approve all of these events. And also because I'm going to issue you a challenge; if you accept, not only will you have fun, but you'll earn extra recognition, a special forum badge, and the accolades of your peers. It's time to shake things up and to make you look at old cards in a new light.

Here is the challenge for the 2012 European Continental Championship weekend, a.k.a. Chairman's Challenge IX:

Build, play with, and win with a deck containing only non-headquarters missions worth 30 points. (Caretaker's Array is considered a headquarters mission.)

We call this challenge "Undervalued." Many of today's most common decks rely on the same small subset of 35 points missions, or delve into the two-mission win territory of 40-point missions. This challenge asks you to dig through binders and risk the wrath of Insurrection by only using thirty (30) point missions. After all, there are fifty-one (51) choices.

As with all Chairman's Challenge events, participation in the challenge is optional. But if you do build and play with a qualifying deck, you'll be eligible for the extra honors it conveys. And it's supposed to be challenge - to test yourself and see if you can rise above and meet it head on.

Good luck to everyone competing in the European Continentals, and especially to anyone who takes up the challenge of Undervalued. Break out the bonus points and fight to win!
