GenCon 2013: Room Block Requests

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

11th February 2013

We're proud to once again offer a block of rooms for our use at GenCon 2013, from August 15-18, 2013. This will be our third year doing so and we have learned more and more each year, hoping to offer an even better experience this year than we have in the past.

We will be staying in the JW Marriott at approximately the same rates as we had in 2012. You can reserve a room for anywhere between one (1) and four (4) people, and we have the option of fitting in an extra person or two if you're okay with being a little cramped.

We don't need any financial commitment from you at this time, but we do need to get an early head count on the number of people that will be looking to reserve rooms. If you'd like to reserve a room in our block, please send an email (cplaine@gmail.com) or a Private Message (MidnightLich) as soon as you can with the following information:

1) The name of the primary contact (i.e. who's name will the room be in)
2) The email address of the primary contact
3) Is this a request for a spot in a room, or a full room for a group?
4) If for a group, do you want a single bed or two double beds?
5) If for a group, how many people do you expect to be in the room?
6) If for a spot in a room, what's the maximum number of people you're willing to share with?

We need to get an early count of the number and types of rooms to our contact quite soon, so please get your messages in to me before Friday, February 22, 2013. This is an early head count, so it'll be okay if things change a bit between now and then, but please don't submit a request unless you actually plan on coming to GenCon and sharing a room.

Once we get our early headcount, we'll start sending out additional information about costs, payments, and the final details.
