Second Edition Errata Document Updated

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

13th May 2013

On Monday, May 13th, 2013, the Second Edition Design Team has released an updated Errata Document. As always, these errata take effect immediately. CRD and Errata updates are usually made on the first Monday of each month.

The Errata document is available for download via the link on the front page, or directly via http://www.trekcc.org/op/ST2EErrata.pdf. Five (5) cards were updated this month, but four (4) had already been printable, adding only one (1) card to the printable pool. These changes have been made to eliminate unintended and undesirable interactions and to update them to current templating:

Assess Contamination
This change has been made to update this virtual mission to the modern mission attempt timing rules; otherwise, the card functions identically as it has before.

Damar (Useful Adjutant) -
This Call to Arms card has also been functionally preserved, but updated to reflect the modern mission attempt timing rules.

Reyga (Young Scientist) -
This virtual Ferengi personnel has been changed to include an additional cost to his ability, requiring him to stop to prevent and overcome a dilemma. The Design Team spent a lot of time looking at the power of the "Reyga deck" over the past year and looked at several cards for possible change. It was ultimately decided that an erratum to Reyga would address the problems with that deck's power with the least collateral damage to the affiliation.

U.S.S. Defiant (Stolen Warship) -
The Maquis Defiant has been altered to reduce the effect of its ability, dropping the number of cards from two (2) to one (1). This preserves the flavor and function of the card while reducing its power. Note that a previous errata to this card corrected a misprint from Adversaries Anthology.

U.S.S. Enterprise-D (Loaded for Bear) -
This frequently discussed ship has been carefully considered and tested since its debut in Tapestry, and today receives two updates. First, the timing has been altered to allow its use only when the player is behind his or her opponents. Secondly, a limit of once per turn has been added. These changes address the majority of the potential abuse with this card while retaining its original function.

The Second Edition Design Team is scheduled to release an update to the Errata Document on the first Monday of each month. These errata are effective immediately.
