Make it So Returns for First Edition

by Charlie Plaine, Chairman

6th September 2013

In 2009, Keith "Foreman" Morris became the first winner of Make it So: The Search for the Next Assistant Designer and joined the Second Edition design team. Two years later, his brother, Mark "BaronMorrath" Morris won the second competition. Now, in 2013, it's time for you aspiring First Edition to have a chance as we announce Make it So 2013: The Search for the Next First Edition Assistant Designer!

Make it So

Applications are now being accepted for this competition, and will be accepted until Friday, September 27. Late applications will not be accepted, and incomplete applications may delay or disqualify you from participation, so please make sure to complete your applications on time!

If you're not interested in applying, or end up not being selected as a contestant, you can still participate! The public is invited and encouraged to rate and comment on each submission for each challenge, and your votes will help decide who will become the Next First Edition Assistant Designer.

Make it So 2013 will involve both individual and team-oriented competitions meant to test the creativity and ability of our candidates. We're also happy to report that there will be no eliminations this year, and that all contestants that begin will compete in all the challenges leading up to the Final Challenge. The competition is planned to run from November 2013 until March 2014. We're also working on making lots more improvements to the process both for the participants and for the public; stay tuned for more news on that as we get closer to the competition's beginning.

Any member of the community is welcome to apply for the competition. The exact number of participants will be determined based on the number of applications. Applications are open from now until Friday, September 27. Once applications have closed, our panel of judges will comb through them and select the list of participants.

Remember, applications are available now and are due on or before Friday, September 27! We're excited to bring Make it So to the world of First Edition, and can't wait to see your applications. We'll be posting more details as we get closer to the competition, so stay tuned. In the mean time, if you have questions or would like to discuss this competition, check out the Make it So thread on the Gameplay (1E) forum!
