2014 World Championship Playmat

We're excited that the reaction to our new playmats has been so positive. Players that have won the Continental mats are happy with them, and the demand for versions of them for sale has been unprecedentedly high. So it's with great joy that we're happy to announce that playmats will also be available for our top participants at the 2014 World Championship in just two weeks, August 14-17 at GenCon in Indianapolis, Indiana. But enough about that, let me show you the outstanding art on these World Championship 2014 playmats:

Just like our Continentals mats, these playmats are professionally produced, and are 24 inches x 14 inches. The background is one of many gorgeous images of space provided to the public by NASA, and is suitable for use in any card game (but especially appropriate for games of First Edition, Second Edition, and Tribbles!) The bottom right corner features the logo of The Continuing Committee, and the bottom left corner features details about this year's World Championship this mat is associated with:

These mats were created by our awesome and incredibly talented Art Director, Johnny Holeva. We're very excited to bring them to you! The Top 8 finishers in both the First Edition and Second Edition World Championships will earn their very own playmats, as will each player at the top table of the Tribbles World Championship.

And don't worry - if you aren't able to make it to this year's Worlds, or end up with an off day and don't make the Top 8, we'll be accepting pre-orders for a version of this mat (without the event text) shortly after GenCon concludes. This means that, just like the Continentals mat, you'll be able to order one of these beautiful playmats and have it shipped right to your door.

The World Championships look to be some of the biggest Trek events in recent history, and no doubt these playmats will be prizes the participants will relish owning. We're excited to offer this new prize for our high level events, and hope you'll be equally excited to have a chance to win one of your own!
