The Chicagoland area yet again has the privilege of hosting the US National Championships. We will be holding this extravaganza at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. This community college in the western Chicago suburbs is hosting its annual CoDCON that weekend, run by the school’s science fiction and fantasy club. You may want to bring your favorite cosplay outfit to blend in with the locals. Please note that you must buy a badge for the con in order to participate in any of our tournaments. Weekend passes are $8 if you pre-register or $10 at the door. OK, so onto the cool stuff. What do we have on offer for tournaments?

If you are coming in from out of town, there are a variety of options for lodging nearby. Options range from the inexpensive Budgetel Glen Ellyn to the higher end DoubleTree Suites by Hilton in nearby Lisle. There are a number of options in between these for folks to stay at. If you wish to live it up a little and stay in downtown Chicago, the Metra commuter rail’s UP West Line will take you to downtown Glen Ellyn, but from there, you will need to make arrangements to get to CoD (like asking me to pick you up).
Our player group loves to go out for dinner on the Saturday evening of CoDCON. There are a lot of restaurants in the area. We are particularly fond of The Patio. We have also been known to patronize the local Cozymel’s. Another local option is Warren’s Ale House. If you like a whiff of scandal with your dinner, you are welcome to check out the College of DuPage’s high-end eatery, Waterleaf.
I hope I have been able to tempt you to join us for US Nationals in Chicagoland. If you’re planning on bringing family, you may want to check out some of the amazing attractions here.
