Long-overdue Programming Team Update

by Chris Lobban, Chief Programmer

19th March 2017

'Ello Everybody!

First off, let me apologize for my extended absence. I had a lot of things piling up one after the other, that kept me away from the site for far longer than I would've liked. I'd like to thank James (BCSWowbagger) for stepping up in my absence and helping out with some of the more urgent things around the site. And also Andrey (anguss) that he recruited to help him with some of the Achievements SQL stuff. But the good news is, I'm back again and getting back into the full swing of things!

Actually, that's not really the good news. Or at least, not the best news of it. The really good news is hidden up in the title, where it says "Programming Team". Yes, that's right. After far too many years of trying to manage all the programming by myself, I finally have a team! Both James and Andrey have agreed to stay on and continue helping me out, forming an official Programming Team at long last! James is going to focus mostly on working to develop a new look and feel for the website, and also be available as a backup for me when things start to get too hairy. And Andrey is going to focus mostly on Achievements, helping Rogue to get those back on track and onto a regular release schedule. And by those two taking those two major projects off my plate, it will allow me to focus on the daily maintenance of the website, taking care of bugs and other issues as they arise, and then... if I get sufficiently inspired, maybe start to add a couple other new features here and there. We'll have to see what the future brings...

... but whatever it is, it's sure to be great! So please join me in welcoming these two to their new positions on the Programming Team, and look forward to lots of good things to come!
