1st December 2017

The 2018 European Continental Championship is coming to Kassel

It is with great honor and pleasure that we can announce that the European Continental Championships for 1E, 2E and Tribbles are coming to Kassel, Germany on July 26. - 29.

The Event
The Event will be taking place at the CVJM Kassel e.V., host of the annual German Nationals for the past 10 years.

A preliminary draft of the schedule looks like this:

Regarding the side events, we will conduct a couple of surveys to determine what you guys would like to play. A further and more detailed Schedule will be released after that.

The Town
Besides having fun while playing trek during the continentals, you can add a couple of days to explore the city and "the heart" of Germany. Kassel offers a large variety of museums and art-exhibitions, furthermore an interesting history and a beautiful natural landscape to explore and enjoy. For a complete list of museums, parks an exhibitions in the area, I highly recommend the web page of the mhk:http://museum-kassel.de/
But I wanna name a few highlights here: First of all our UNESCO World Heritage the "Bergpark" which contains the "Herkules"-Statue, the trademark of the region.

The Bergpark also contains an artificial castle ruin the Löwenburg.

If you are interested in art or science you should visit the Fridericianum, the Neue Galerie and the Orangerie with the Ottoneum and the Marmorbad.

The area around the Orangerie is especially nice if you are planning to bring your family with you. The Aue-bad is also quite near it.

Also inseparable connected with Kassel are the Brothers Grimm, finally they got their own museum, where you can dig deep into their collected tales and fables and/or discover the history and development of the german language. It's a very unique museum.

Finally I wanna mention our hiking trails and climbing parks (in-and outdoor), and of course the best our kitchen has to offer, the delicious "Ahle Worscht". If you wanna have any further or more specific information please feel free to contact us  .

Travel information
For you international travellers I would recommend flying into either Frankfurt a.M. or Hannover international Airports which are both round about one and a half hours away from Kassel and have an excellent Train connection.
Our team will be organizing transportation to pick you guys up at the train station and get you to your hotel or the venue.
Speaking of Hotels, there's a huge amount of hotels to pick from in downtown Kassel. I recommend the Stadthotel Kassel (http://www.stadthotel-kassel.de/) which is on the same block as the venue itself and just about a minute away by foot.

We will try our best to make this an outstanding event and hope that you guys will enjoy your time in Kassel.
