The Continuing Committee Seeks New Volunteers

Members of the Continuing Committee are hard at work on the first draft of Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Part of filing for incorporation is having a Board of Directors for the organization. Currently, many of the positions that would qualify someone to be a board member are vacant. These include Director of Operations, Director of Organized Play and Director of Public Relations. Additionally, the post of Chief Ambassador is also open. The Continuing Committee has formed search committees to fill these positions.
Open Board Positions
Director of Operations
The Continuing Committee is looking to fill the new (never held) position of Director of Operations. This is a high level management position that will, once formal procedures are in place, be subject to a periodic public performance review. Details about the position include:
Job Purpose
- Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the TCC organizational mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
- Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (Chief Programmer, Art, Shipping, Achievement, and Financial Departments), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
Duties and Expectations
- Maintain a clear overall schedule of cross department activities.
- Ensure incoming communications are forwarded to the appropriate departments.
- Work with department heads to maintain department staffing and fill vacancies as needed.
- Serve as arbiter for any internal disputes within the Operations Department.
- Provide support for all departments operations, including art, web content, prizes/materials, and finances.
- Manage department staff, ensuring volunteers are in all key positions.
Requirements
- Ability to visit community forums on a daily basis.
- Ability to spend 4-5 hours per week working on TCC projects.
- Ability to manage a global team.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets and financial documents.
- Ability to host online meetings.
The Director of Operations reports directly to the Chairman, and oversees the Shipping Manager, Chief Programmer, Achievement Master and Art Director. Director of Organized Play
The Continuing Committee is looking to fill the position of Director of Organized Play. This is a high level management position that will, once formal procedures are in place, be subject to a periodic public performance review. Details about the position include:
Job Purpose
- Ensure that sanctioned events are supported globally and run fairly.
- Maintain sanctity of high-level events.
- Oversee selection of event promos and high level events.
Duties and Expectations
- Server as final arbiter for any organized play issues across the globe.
- Final authority regarding selection of location and timing for all high level events.
- Ensure high-level events are run consistently and correctly.
- Oversee selection of special event prizes, including promos.
- Ensure timely announcement of all organized play events and changes.
- Manage updates to all organized play documentation.
- Manage department staff, ensuring volunteers are in all key positions.
Requirements
- Ability to visit community forums on a daily basis.
- Ability to spend 4-5 hours per week working on TCC projects.
- Ability to manage a global team.
- Ability to work with basic HTML
- Ability to host online meetings
The Director of Organized Play reports directly to the Chairman, and oversees all of the Continental Organized Play Coordinators. Director of Public Relations
The Continuing Committee is looking to fill the vacant position of Director of Public Relations. This is a high level management position that will, once formal procedures are in place, be subject to a periodic public performance review. Details about the position include:
Job Purpose
- Ensure that all public communication and the online profile of the CC is positive and clear.
- Maintain the clear and consistent flow of information across all of our channels.
- Organize promotions and presentations as needed with other departments.
Duties and Expectations
- Maintain regular activity on all outgoing communications channels (website, social media, etc.)
- Ensure incoming communications are forwarded to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure that outgoing communications are correct, complete, and share a similar voice.
- Ensure the CC is represented well in all communications.
- Coordinate important announcements and event information with other departments.
- Manage department staff, ensuring volunteers are in all key positions.
Requirements
- Ability to visit community forums on a daily basis.
- Ability to spend 4-5 hours per week working on TCC projects.
- Ability to manage a global team.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms.
- Ability to work with basic HTML

The Director of Public Relations reports directly to the Chairman, and oversees the Social Media Manager, Writing Team Manager, and Chief Ambassador. Other
Chief Ambassador
The Chief Ambassador is responsible for managing the Ambassador Corps, ensuring there is equal representation in all regions and for all games. He or she manages the staff as necessary. In addition, the Chief Ambassador is the point of contact for all of the Ambassadors, ensuring information from the Ambassadors reaches the appropriate departments, and vice versa.
Job Purpose
- Managing and Coordinating the Ambassador Corps with the goal to support and expand First Edition, Second Edition, and Tribbles.
- Point of contact for all Ambassadors, liaison for all departments and Ambassadors.
Duties and Expectations
- Maintain regular contact with all Ambassadors.
- Coordinate Ambassador feedback to the required departments.
- Recruit Ambassadors for regions without one.
- Updating Ambassadors on upcoming expansions, tournaments, and projects.
- Maintaining resources for all Ambassadors and coordinating with required departments for the creation of new materials and resources.
Requirements
- Ability to visit community forums on a daily basis.
- Ability to spend 1-2 hours per week working on TCC projects.
- Familiarity with TCC Organizational structure.
- Ability coordinate global volunteers.
- Ability to communicate clearly.

Applications will be open until January 24th and then I have asked all search committees to complete the interview process and forward a name to Charlie by February 7th. As Chair, Charlie will approve the choice. After that, staff members will be subject to a one-month probationary period while we accept public comment on the choice. They will put in place permanently after that period is up.
