MinnMasters is Coming!

by Kris Sonsteby, Director of Organized Play

23rd August 2018

The North American Organized Play team is proud to announce that the ever popular Trek Masters tournament series is headed to the Bold North the weekend of September 21st, 22nd, and 23rd! We will crown three (3) new champions for each game over 2 action packed days of STCCG and my sources tell me Minnesota's rotating "prize," the aptly name Master's Jacket, will also be awarded to one lucky participant. Read on for full details of this forthcoming Fall Classic!

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 21st

7 p.m. Meet N' Greet at Fallout Shelter Arcade in Northeast Minneapolis

It's become a running tradition that we kick our STCCG weekends off with a BANG, and this gig will be no different as guests form alliances and mortal enemies alike in the Battle Tech pod bays down at Fallout Shelter Arcarde. The assembled Frozen Chosen will likely order pizza to snack on in between missions, and odds are good that an impromptu Tribbles match will break out to wind down the evening. SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd

11:30 a.m. Second Edition Trek Masters Championship at Fantasy Flight Games in Roseville

Competitors from around the nation will compete in our first of three championship events of the weekend. Who will have what it takes to ascend the throne and become Second Edition Masters Champion? Pre-registration is already open, and the link can be found here.

12:00 p.m. First Edition Cube Draft at Fantasy Flight Games in Roseville

2E not your jam? Come out and play 1E as 2018 North American Continental Champion Mr. Kevin Jaeger brings his South Dakota "home brew" cube draft to prime time. I'm told there will even be special prizes up for grabs, courtesy of ?Money, Inc.? Pre-registration is already open and the link can be found here.

6:30 p.m. Tribbles Trek Masters Championship at Fantasy Flight Games in Roseville

Following dinner either at FFG or a restaurant nearby, Saturday's tournaments will conclude with the Tribbles championship event. Whomever breeds the most of those furry lil buggers will walk away with our second title on the weekend, plus swag from the infamous janky prize support bin. Pre-registration is already open and the link can be found here.

9 p.m. General Gaming at House Chan-steby in Saint Paul

Finish off your epic first day of competition with drinks and casual games around the coffee table, or just come by to tell your friendly local Director of Organized Play how you think he is doing. Local board game favorites include Seven Wonders, Splendor, and Ticket to Ride, although Cards Against Humanity may also make an appearance. Just beware of getting sucked into a Nat Kirton STCCG game recap!

Competitors from around the nation will compete in our final of three championship events of the weekend. Who will have what it takes to ascend the throne and become First Edition Masters Champion? Pre-registration is already open, and the link can be found here.

There really is nothing like September in Minnesota. The leaves are beginning to change color, the sunsets are still gorgeous from across the lake, and the temperatures are typically in the low 70's throughout the day. We really hope you will consider seeing The Land of 10,000 Champions? up close and personal for yourself, and joining us for what is sure to be another exciting Trek Masters tournament weekend. You gotta be here!
