National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day

by Ross Fertel, Director of Second Edition

29th March 2019

Celebrate Birthdays! There's a thread on the Gameplay Forum about tournaments tailored to birthdays. Feel free to join in and on the fun with your own idea or one that seems neat!

Enter Road to Worlds. Regional season is starting really soon and Lucas Thompson is gearing up his Road to Worlds series. Take a look at the thread and put in an entry. Note that the format for scoring has changed with a focus on climbing the rankings instead of just winning it all.

Travel. Coquitlam, British Columbia and Kassel, Germany are hosting Regional events this weekend. If you have fun in Coquitlam, feel free to spend the night and play in a sealed event the following day. San Diego, California is hosting a Masters.

Or, if traveling isn't your cup of tea, you can play at the Dojo!

Look at decks from this past weekend. Steve Nelson played Bah! Combat is not Treacherous and yes, that title is ironic with Kruge and Chang in the mix. Justin Kaufman is a little more appropriately titled with KCA Klingons, but there is some support from the non-aligned humans as well. Ryan Peterson played a Deep Space Nine deckTrust in the Prophets. This one is a little off the beaten path, focusing on Bajor and the Federation with a bit of support from the other factions as well, though notably no Common cycle or Abrasive Allies. Not just that, but the Ferengi card is Nog rather than Quark. It never hurts to experiment!

Jeremy Benedict went with The Next Generation in I Wish to Harm the Melody Machine. This is a four or more solver deck filled with your Battleship personnel. Jason Tang won the day with Super Barclay Commands the Enterprise and our Respect. This is the third iteration of that deck and you can see the latest tweaks when you look at the deck to see what he took out to make the deck better.

Last but not least, Mike Shea won the event held in celebration of his birthday with Unleash Hell, a nice dilemma mill deck based around Terok Nor. There's a good combination of virtual and physical cards across all the card types.
