I Don't Always Play Combat Decks...

by Maggie Geppert, Executive Officer

Zefram Cochrane's Shotgun

Ever since Shattered Mirror came out, I've been thinking about how to make KCA Terrans slave away in the Ore Processing unit. Racial Disdain and Psychotic Impulse provide some flavor to the affiliation along those lines. Then I saw Zephram Cochrane's Shotgun and I knew what flavor I wanted my Terrans to have - murder and death.

This deck is designed to use the Terrans to go out and kill as many of your opponent's personnel as possible. Zefram Cochrane, Breaking History can start combat and immediately take out two personnel with the gun.  Just make sure that you only have Humans in your team.  Then when you win, Cochrane can kill an additional personnel.  You should go do Kavis Alpha, Research Binary Star first so you can play the shotgun.  After all, it is an Artifact. After that, feel free to travel around with your Humans and murder as much as possible

The dilemma pile adds to the murder.  It's a pretty standard All-Consuming Evil/Tragic Turn pile (credit to Ben Liebich for the pile's scaffolding).  I've supplemented it with Shocking Betrayal, Abrasive Allies and Reflections, all dilemmas I have found works well with the multi-affiliation KCA.  I also like to use the 1-cost "do or die" dilemmas like Covert Extraction with TT.
