Worlds 2019 Informations #9 - Do's and Dont's

Hey everyone!
My last Worlds Information post will inform you about the rules we have to apply at Jazzland.
The club is owned by my family since 1972, it is our family business and my father allows us to play down there without charging any rent. As said before we can be there as long as we like, normal public is not allowed in there, so you can leave your stuff down there without any fear of getting anything lost.
Of course there are some do's and dont's I want to give you all along BEFORE Worlds started. I’m doing it this way, online, because it is very hard to have everyone around early those four days to hear this stuff.
- You can purchase drinks at cheap, reasonable prices at our bartender. It is not prohibited to bring your own beverages with you, but please think about the no rent policy and how a club survives all over the globe.
- If you are ordering a drink at the bar and Niall Matthews is standing next to you, if you are wearing any clothing that includes pictures or words of alcohol, he might “Request the Item” – he has to pay your drink and you have to give him that piece of clothing immediately…
- We won’t serve any food at Jazzland, so feel free to get in, bring and eat whatever food you like (if some Klingons want to eat a living Targ running away from them, they have to cover everything the ANIMAL breaks…)
- We’ve calculated our prices for the beverages without any tip for the bartender. If you want to give Alex something for his patience hosting us for so many hours, 10% is custom in Austria ;-).
- The auction of the two signed cards will take place between 2E Day One and 1E Day 2 on Saturday along with some other important stuff…please manage to be around at that time…
- Payment: Unfortunately you cannot pay with ANY cards at Jazzland. We only accept cash…
- Internet: We have a WIFI installed at Jazzland just for this event. You can use it reasonably without any charge.
- Judge: I will judge most of the events. I won’t participate in the Main Events (so… Tribbles maybe) at all. I want to participate in some of the Side Events (Biermeisters are out of the discussion – I have to play them both), but only to avoid a BYE. Even then the other participants have the right to be against my participation, because every time a ruling is required in another game I have to stop playing and answer that call what consumes time. My goal is to give all of you the best time possible! If you have any questions just come to me. If you don’t see me ask Alex (our bartender) or some of the local guys where I am…
- Registration: When you first enter the vicinity please come to me and register “that you are here”. Afterwards just come to the Judges table and tell me for what event you would like to register.
- Main events: you can register whenever you want including telling me if you would take any Earned Byes before the event starts. You have to give me a Deck List for ALL main events when you register for it.
- Side events: I will not accept any off-line preregistrations on days before the actual event takes place. Please register for those one or two hours before the event starts. If it is a tournament with limited resources (like a Sealed event) online-preregistered players have priority for participating.
- Time: In a 4-days event with 23 pre-announced tournaments some delays are unfortunately inevitable. To avoid them as much as possible please be ready 10-15 minutes before the event. But please be patient, if something takes a little bit longer than planned.
I wish you all a wonderful time visiting our beautiful city and I hope we can blast you away with our hospitality and a great time in Vienna!!!
