Seven (7) Cards Added to Watch List

by Charlie Plaine, Director of First Edition

Today is the First Monday of the month, and thus the day that the Department of First Edition issues errata and announces changes to the OTF Ban List and the Watch List. Today, we're adding seven (7) cards to the Watch List. There are no changes to the OTF Ban List, nor are any errata being issued today.

The Department has recently become concerned about the relative power of personnel with broad, repeatable dilemma nullification abilities. While some of these personnel's power has been amplified by being playable in already powerful decks, the power of dilemma nullification in general has proven to be a competitive balance problem. For these reasons, five (5) such personnel - Dr. McCoy, Lt. Uhura (Through the Looking Glass), Guinan, Madam Guinan, and Hoshi Sato - are hereby added to the Watch List.

Access Archives, from The Cage has proven to be more popular and more reliable than intended and expected. Because of the popularity of this mission, and the difficulty in keeping opponents from scoring smaller amounts of points from completing it, Access Archives is added to the Watch List.

Finally, Containment Field is one of the few [Ref] cards still remaining that has an offensive use - the ability to discard cards from an opponent's hand. While it's true this works in combination with Tribunal of Q and Q the Referee, Containment Field is the key card allowing this interaction, and is thus added to the Watch List.

Regular updates to errata, the OTF Ban List, and the Watch List are scheduled for the First Monday of each month. The next scheduled update is June 1st, 2020.
