Masters... of the Universe Pt. III!

by Kris Sonsteby, Director of Organized Play

27th September 2020

Greetings, 'trek fans! If you have been even casually following along with the 5-month long online tournament program that has been The Subspace Championship Series, you know that it is beginning to wind down. We collectively celebrated the 4th of July (U.S.) in style with United States Nationals for all three games, and we have been rolling right along with the ever popular Return to Talos IV  and Return to Farpoint monthly tournaments ever since. Along the road, we have tried wide open formats, hosted limited events, held drafts, and we even made a pit stop to crown the very first ever 1E Cup Champion. And with us every step of the way, we have had weekly Tribbles throwdowns to help us all reconnect with old friends in this era of social distancing. While the grand finale is now in sight, this 5-month long tournament program is far from over. So sharpen your blades, my friends. Masters... of the Universe Part III kick starts in just a few short weeks!

At this time the Organized Play team would like to cordially invite everyone in the community to continue celebrating the games we love by taking over the airwaves one more time to help us close out this COVID-19 impacted competitive season on 10/19/20 with Masters... of the Universe Part III. Like United States Nationals in July, these 5-round tournaments will be held for both First Edition and Second Edition with the hope that we wrap up just before the holiday season officially starts with Thanksgiving (U.S.) Players will be paired up via a forum post, and have one week to arrange a time to play their respective opponent over what will be a 5-week long commitment. These events will also be the culimation of the 5-month long Subspace Championship Series, which means participants will be eligible for a bevy of prizes including Masters foils, the repurposed Continental and Worlds foils, event specific alternate image promos from the Return to Talos IV and Return to Farpoint events, and best of all the gorgeous and extremely rare BORDERLESS foils created by our amazing Art team. So what are you waiting for? Get pre-registered for our dueling grand finales today! You gotta get in here!
