Qo’noS Calling!

by This is Brigadier Paddy, Speaking for the High Council

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

General Grokh

With both the Federation and Klingon personnel in the Classic Films era containing several personnel who report for free to their respective headquarters, the Second Star to the Right design team set about turning those respective homeworlds into a hub of activity for personnel of those eras.

One focus of this set was to flesh out the number of free plays available to those headquarters, with new presidents, admirals, and High Council personnel, such as the new General Grokh. But of course, one free report wouldn't match up with the two free reports you can get from The Final Frontier or Camp Khitomer with Protect the Timeline.

So we added a second free play for Classic Film era personnel. Once combined with The Great Hall you get one generic free play and one High Council / Chancellor free play - not quite as straight forward as building an Original Series deck!

However, there is a downside: you can only play personnel for free at Qo'noS. So you can't stack with many of the other available Klingon free plays, so if you want to add in General Martok or Captain Koloth, feel free! But you would lose the extra draw from The Undiscovered Country.

But it still needed an edge compared to Camp Khitomer decks, which can still potentially get two free plays at Khitomer and one at Qo'noS, despite the possible downside of a sizeable distance between the reporting locations.

So we borrowed an existing Klingon trick from Officer Exchange Programme, letting you "choose your dinner guests" and download a High Council personnel to hand in place of your normal card draw. This means you should be able to ensure you always get both of those two free plays. Or you could get yourself a tasty HQ card! Perhaps you want to save a seed card and grab HQ: Secure Homeworld? Or maybe you fancy some extra draws from HQ: Executive Orders. Is an opponent lurking near your stealable mission that you want to defend with HQ: Defensive Measures? Or maybe you need some higher attributes to get past a dilemma and want to fetch HQ: War Room!

Whatever you decide, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner certainly gives you options!

(Note: We deliberately removed the ? to ensure that no-one could nullify it with That's a Stupid Question!)
