March Madness 2022: 3 to Go

by Charlie Plaine, Director of First Edition

30th March 2022

To all of you wonderful people, welcome to the 5th week of March Madness 2022. So far, your votes have eliminated 60 card concepts and just the Final 4 remain. 100 of you voted in last week's poll, showing a nice uptick in participation between the previous week and last week. That's awesome. And now, with your votes, you will decide which 2 card concepts will vie for the title, and a spot in an upcoming design file.

Before we get to the voting for the Final 4, let's go over the results from the Elite 8 round. I've also provided a link to a Google Sheet you can see to visualize all the results so far, if that's helpful to you.

Results Bracket

Elite 8 Bracket
Section 31 Recruitment (1) proved that logic isn't everything. knocking out T'Pau (2) in a 53-47 win.
The Warrior's Anthem (2) upset Voth City Ship (1) in a buzzer beater to win, 51-49.
Transporter Duplication (1) resisted Assimilate Youth (2), ending its journey with a 58-42 win.
Ancestral Arena (1) cut Lirpa (10) down to size in the "Amok Time" battle, ending the Cinderella story with a 57-43 victory.

This means that your Final 4 card ideas are:

It's DS9 vs DS9 in one match, and TNG vs TOS in the other. How will this round shake out? Once again, that is up to you! You are invited to vote however you like, and the winning card at the end of First Edition March Madness will become a new card in the future. Your votes are helping shape this game, so get out there and vote! Here is the bracket for this round:

Good luck and have fun! And spread the word online and in your play groups and friend groups. Voting will be open until 9 AM Pacific on Monday, April 4th. And don't forget to join the discussion on our Gameplay (1E) forum to speculate on what might happen next!
