April 2022 First Edition Ban / Errata / Watch List Updates

by Charlie Plaine, Director of First Edition

4th April 2022

Borg Queen (Shades of Gray)

Hello to all of you First Edition fans. It's the first Monday of April, and that means we're bringing you a small update. We designate the first Monday of each month as a standard day to issue errata, update the OTF Ban List, or make changes to the Watch List. It's the latter that we're doing today as we add the Borg Queen from Shades of Gray to the Watch List. Unlike the Ban List, being on the Watch List does not alter a card's playability or legality. Instead, it's a tool to allow both players and staff to monitor the card and gather more data. Being on the Watch List is not a guarantee that the card will be banned, issued errata, or anything else. In the case of the Borg Queen, the Balance and Design Teams are continuing to examine the Borg, particularly fast and aggressive decks. This version of the queen has been flagged as a possible concern due to her ability to allow an otherwise slow deck to deploy very quickly. Thus, we are adding it to the Watch List today.

That's all for today everyone. Regular updates to errata, the OTF Ban List, and the Watch List are scheduled for the First Monday of each month. The next scheduled update is Monday, May 2nd, 2022.
