Kira Nerys (Ih'valla)

by Charlie Plaine, Acting Second Edition Lead Designer

12th July 2011

Over the past week or so, we've spent a lot of time talking to members of the community and listening to feedback from testers, designers, and players from all over the globe regarding the power of the Bajoran/Maquis deck that won the Australian Continentals and the card Kira Nerys (Ih'valla).

Suffice it to say, like almost every issue, there was no unanimous decision on the issue. Some felt that the card has sufficient counters in game and needs no action; others felt more time should be given before making a decision. Others thought that something needed to change, but could not agree on the specific change to make.

At the end of the day, we've chosen to act because it appears to be in the best interests of the game and the community. While there has not been unanimity on the issue, the following change seems to satisfy most of the concerns, and is in effect immediately:

The database will be updated shortly, and a PDF of the errata will also be made available. As a reminder, this change takes effect immediately.

One further note: we've heard your concerns that too many errata are being released, too often, and without respect to Decipher's original cards. While we stand by all of our decisions, we are hearing your concerns. We're going to be re-evaluating our policies and criteria for action in the post-championship season in order to better serve the needs of the global community.
