Second Edition CRD Clarifies Ship Attributes, Cost Modifiers

by Charlie Plaine, Acting Second Edition Rules Master

3rd October 2011

On Monday, October 3rd, 2011, the Second Edition Rules Committee issued a new Current Rulings Document (CRD). As always, this CRD takes effect immediately. CRD updates are usually made on the first Monday of each month.

The CRD is available for download via the link on the front page, or directly via https://www.trekcc.org/op/ST2ECRD.pdf. This month's CRD contains two rulings meant to clarify recently unclear interactions.

attributes, ship -
The printed attributes of a ship are always visible. Any mandatory modifiers must be revealed whenever the modified ship's attribute is used. Optional modifiers may always remain hidden unless they are activated.

cost modification -
Any card that reduces its cost based on freely available information may be played without the full price in counters remaining. Otherwise, one must be able to pay the full price.

Note that the above are summaries of the rulings and are not the exact text. The exact rules text, plus examples, are in the CRD itself.

The Second Edition Rules Committee is scheduled to release an update to the CRD on the first Monday of each month. This CRD is effective immediately.
