World Music Day

by Ross Fertel, Director of Second Edition

22nd June 2019

Things are a little quiet right now owing to not one but two Continentals this coming weekend.  Nonetheless, there are still several things to partake in and around Second Edition.

Make thy will knownWill of the Collective is still going strong.  Lucas Thompson is moderating the seventh iteration, his second overall and is doing a great job managing that project.  This weekly update is inadequate due to the frequency of updates, but you will want to keep an eye on the forums.  Keeping tabs on the main thread is not a bad idea.

Read.  There are other forum posts worth your valuable time.  There’s a poll for the Hall of Fame event along with Lucas Thompson’s thread for the Road to Worlds now in its thirteenth week.  Just guess who will have the biggest ratings gain.

Travel. The big events are in Atlanta, Georgia and Greater Manchester, Manchester.  Beyond the top billed events, there are a lot of side events.  There is also a regional in Plumstead, Cape Town.  On top of that, there is a tournament in New South Wales Australia.

Look at a deck.  Will Raiman played a Stupid 3HQ Dabo Shenanigans deck.  As the title implies, it is a three headquarters deck, and it does involve Dabo! shenanigans, but the interesting thing is that one headquarters is there not to report anyone to, but just to score points off with Distant Exploration.  This is a Ferengi heavy deck with a bit of Bajorans thrown in along with a whole heck of a lot of Dabo Girls.  Triple HQ decks are not for the newer players, but if you want to try something a little different, this is a very good deck to use.
