On Second Thought: Two Looks Back

by Ross Fertel, Director of Second Edition

25th July 2019

Every month, I post a blog.  Here are the first few paragraphs for July 2019.

One of the things I like to do is look back at sets a year after they are released. It lets us know which cards are being used and you can tell a lot by which cards have been put into decks. It generally takes about half a year for the cards to be adopted by the community as a whole into decks and a year gives us the opportunity to see what happened. While we look at the decks every week, this allows us to look at things at a higher level.

Here’s a link to the look at Symbiosis.

Far Beyond the Stars came out last May, but we were deep in A Less Perfect Union spoilers to take a look. Warp Pack: Access Deniedcame out just about a year ago, so today, we’ll look at both boutiques.

Far Beyond the Stars was A Deep Space Nine tribute product. Coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the first season, this set was characterized by combinations of ships and their captains along with a bunch of cards that were, for lack of a better term, fun.
