Austin Chandler (DarkSabre) is the New 1E Playtest Manager

Today, I'm happy to announce that Austin Chandler (DarkSabre), our Social Media Manager, has agreed to take on the additional role as First Edition Playtest Manager. This is a new role within the Department of First Edition, and is focused on improving our internal testing. Managing testers is a big job and deserves someone who is dedicated to the role. With Austin accepting this position, he and I will be able to work together to improve not only our testing policies and procedures, but our staffing as well.

Initially, Austin will be responsible for managing the testing staff - making sure any issues are addressed, managing recruitment and rewards, and other similar tasks. Moving forward, he will take a more active role in managing testing itself. Austin and I have discussed a goal where he works with Design, Errata, and Rules to make sure that the many ideas and projects that need testing time get that time. He would be able to work with testing teams to assign specific goals and provide direction. But those are goals we'll be working towards, and with a dedicated manager in the role, I'm confident that time will be sooner rather than later.

I'm excited to see Austin take on this role. He had this to say about the position:
