Balance Team Leaders Announced

by Charlie Plaine, Director of First Edition

8th July 2020

Balancing Act (Homefront III)

Back in May, I announced a plan to reform the Errata Team into the Balance Team. This rebranding would come with a renewed focus, a new structure, and new tools available to the team. In turn, these changes would to allow the team to react quickly to problems in the competitive game of First Edition as well as tackle some deeper, more structural issues.

Today, I'm happy to announce that there will be two (2) volunteers co-leading the Balance Team: Dan Hamman (SirDan) and Jason Robinette (JasonRed3). Both are highly skilled volunteers with varied experience and engagement with the game, but with incredible passion to support it. Dan has volunteered for a decade as a designer and brings a lot of historical context and insight to the team. Jason has returned to the game after an extended absence, but his insights on what's changed provide unique insight. Working together, Dan and Jason will be able to find issues and possible solutions that neither might see working alone.

Dan Hamman said:

"I'm excited to help lead this new Balance Team. My involvement with 1E extends back to WB premiere as a player, and a volunteer since the release of DS9. I've been working on First Edition with the Continuing Committee for years, serving on the Errata team, the Rules team, and Design. I'm looking forward to working with Jason as 1E continues on its path toward a bright future."

Jason Robinette said:

"The CC has accomplished a lot over the years, and I'm eager to continue that tradition by working with Dan on the Balance Team. Star Trek was my first CCG back in 1995, and is near and dear to my heart. I can't wait to dig in and give back to this awesome community! We have a lot of work ahead of us to earn your trust, but I'll close by paraphrasing a RoA: Never allow doubt to tarnish your lust for this game."

Please join me in welcoming Dan and Jason aboard as co-Balance Team leaders. After they take a little bit of time to get their feet wet and coordinate, we'll be posting more information about how you can volunteer to join the Balance Team.
