Mindfulness in 2021

When Kathryn Janeway, Mindful Keeper was released in 2015, it was a useful utility card in a 5-space Voyager deck, but the support in terms of 1-cost personnel was not quite sufficient to build an entire deck around her. Caretaker seems like it fixes that. This deck started with many of the same cards that make up pre-Caretaker 5-space Voyager decks:

• Strong personnel linked to the 5-space Voyager theme: Tom Paris, Competitive Pilot; Kes Curious Pilot; William Telfer; Mitchell; Mortimer Harren; Chakotay Steadfast Commander
• Strong 5SV verbs: Thirst for Knowledge and Homeward Bound
• The inevitable Revised Chakotay
• Missions mostly the same as other 5SV decks, except it adds the new mission Plasma Storm Depths

Speaking of Plasma Storm Depths, it removes the possibility of losing turn 1 because of not drawing Voyager. It will also help fuel Tabor whom we add to our strong anti-stop theme. If you draw Voyager in your opening hand, fetch the Delta Flyer which will enable you to do multiple attempts in space, and keep personnel back for use with Homeward Bound.

To max out the Mindful Keeper theme, we add the new 1-cost personnel, and then up the unstoppable power with Tabor and Lore, The One. Revised Chakotay is there to protect Janeway until the moment when we can use her to keep as many 1-cost personnel in an attempt as posssible. He can also protect some of the personnel who cost more than 1, who are needed to round out the skills in the deck.

This deck is no doubt far from its final form. Try it out, optimise it, and keep watching this site for how people use the new cards in tournament decks.
